A three-mile loop that starts on the canyon rim and drops down rock chutes and steps carved into the creekbed to the floor of a deep sandstone canyon, then climbs back out. Bluffs rise about 300 feet, and overlooks open onto the Big Muddy River floodplain. The Forest Service rates it moderate to difficult. The route is steep and often wet, so wear shoes with good grip and avoid the canyon during heavy rain, when flash floods are possible. Hikers only, with no camping, fires, or climbing.
